Chelsea have been urged to sign Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants a new star striker this summer and has targeted Everton’s Lukaku for several months.
But United’s quick-fire £75m move for the Belgian star has left Chelsea in limbo.
One possible target for Conte and co now is Real Madrid ace Morata.
The Spaniard was also heavily linked with United but is now up for grabs again.
Morata is open to moving to the Premier League this summer but Real are demanding upwards of £80m for the 24-year-old.
Chelsea do have such funds at their disposal but must act quickly if they are to land the forward.
Alvaro Morata setback means Real Madrid's summer just got more complicated.....
News that Manchester United seem have to ended their interest in Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata is the latest complication in a summer that Los Blancos president Florentino Perez had expected to be nice and calm.
Just a few weeks ago, Madrid had looked set for a relatively placid transfer window, following their historic claiming of the Champions League and La Liga double -- with Zinedine Zidane's side generally acknowledged as being the best around and not in need of any major overhaul.
The setback over Morata's exit just makes it more likely that Real's summer will continue to be disruptive for some time to come.
