Szczesny moving closer to Juve move

Wojciech Szczesny is moving ever closer to a permanent move to Juventus.

While other players, including Alexis Sanchez, are being left out of Arsenal’s taxing Australia and China tour, the Polish shot-stopper is staying in Europe.

And The Sun say this takes him a step closer to the door at the Emirates.

A successful loan spell at Roma this season has seen the Serie A champions eye Szczesny up as a potential long-term replacement for Gianluigi Buffon when the ageless Italian hangs up the gloves.

Szczesny has just one year left on his Gunners contract, but he has been out of favour and hasn’t played a Premier League match ever since he was sanctioned with a £20,000 fine for smoking in the showers on New Year’s Day in 2015.

Chelsea have been urged to sign Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants a new star striker this summer and has targeted Everton’s Lukaku for several months.

But United’s quick-fire £75m move for the Belgian star has left Chelsea in limbo.

One possible target for Conte and co now is Real Madrid ace Morata.

The Spaniard was also heavily linked with United but is now up for grabs again.

Morata is open to moving to the Premier League this summer but Real are demanding upwards of £80m for the 24-year-old.

Chelsea do have such funds at their disposal but must act quickly if they are to land the forward.

Marco Verratti to Barcelona: Player will sign, he's perfect for Barca

MARCO VERRATTI will join Barcelona from Paris Saint-Germain this summer and it will be a perfect signing for Ernesto Valverde, according to pundit Shaka Hislop.

Verratti has been linked with a mega-money switch from PSG to Barcelona for the majority of the transfer window.

The Italian midfielder has not hidden the fact that he wants to leave and move to the Nou Camp.

New Barca boss Valverde is looking for reinforcements to improve on last season's performances, where they finished second to Real Madrid in the league and were comprehensively beaten in the Champions League quarter-final by Juventus.

Hislop believes Verratti is a perfect signing for them and says he can be a long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta.

"As much as PSG are talking about building a team around him, at the same time I think he's every bit the type of player that Barcelona needs," the former West Ham star said on ESPN FC.

"Not just in the short term but in the long term as they get ready for life after Iniesta.

"Egos are at play here which is a concern. When egos are at play it's unpredictable as to which way this goes."

"In the end though I think common sense will prevail and I say common sense in inverted commas because it will probably mean a price that's far less than common sense.

"I think it gets done and I think it works perfectly well."

Italy international Verratti has made 134 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG since joining from Pescara in 2012.

Frank de Boer keen on Barcelona keeper Jasper Cillessen

Frank de Boer is keen on Barcelona keeper Jasper Cillessen to replace Steve Mandanda.

The Crystal Palace boss will move for his Dutch compatriot with Mandanda keen to join Marseille.

Cillessen, 28, only joined Barca last summer for £11.5million but has been restricted mainly to appearances in the cup competitions.

De Boer signed him during his time and Ajax, making Cillessen the club’s first choice, and wants to work with him again.

Palace are yet to sign a single player in the summer transfer window.
